Hello and Welcome

     It was in 1962 that I saw my first pair of Akitas.  They were in a shopping center being socialized by their owners.  They were quite young at the time.  The breed was in its infancy then and I never saw another Akita anywhere until 2 years later.  There was an ad in the paper about an Akita litter and the sire and dam of the litter just happened to be the pair I saw 2 years earlier.  I bought a male from that litter and from then on became very involved with this very noble and unique breed.  I was "hooked".

     I established my kennel and name, Kofuku-No Akitas, in 1964.  I have been a devoted student and friend of the Akita since then and do all I can to help and protect the breed.
